Srinivas Velamoor
PRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Bio
Previously, Sri served as partner and health sector leader for McKinsey & Company’s North America digital and analytics and ‘Leap’ business building practices. Over a decade at McKinsey, he orchestrated the growth and scale-up of the firm’s healthcare technology and digital health practices and led end-to-end growth and performance transformations at several leading global healthcare institutions. He also led the end-to-end design, launch and commercial acceleration of multiple businesses in the areas of consumer health, analytics, virtual health, digital therapeutics, payments and technology services.
Before joining McKinsey & Company, Velamoor was a partner at both PricewaterhouseCoopers and Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, where he advised industry leading firms in financial services and healthcare.
Sri earned an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania, and a BSE in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Economics from Duke University.
James Hammerschmidt
Chief Financial Officer
Bio
James was appointed Chief Financial Officer of NextGen Healthcare, effective April 1, 2024, after joining the company in September 2017. He has held leadership roles overseeing financial planning and analysis, business intelligence, corporate finance, and investor relations.
He joined the company as Vice President of Corporate Development and led the acquisitions of Inforth Technologies, Topaz Information Solutions, OTTO Health, and Medfusion. James also supported the company’s divestiture of QSI Dental, a convertible debt raise, and the take-private acquisition by Thoma Bravo in November 2023. He has been a prominent member of the leadership team and brings over 15 years of experience in healthcare technology, finance, and strategy.
Prior to joining NextGen Healthcare, James held various leadership positions at Becton Dickinson (NYSE: BDX), one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world, where he was responsible for strategic planning, early-stage innovation, portfolio management, and business development. He also worked for Edwards Lifesciences (NYSE: EW), a global leader in patient-focused medical innovations for structural heart disease, in its advanced technology division. James began his career in strategy consulting and capital advisory, where he advised industry leading firms in private equity, enterprise software, and manufacturing sectors.
James received his bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and remains a regular guest lecturer in partnership with the school’s undergrad and MBA program.
Mitch Waters
CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER
Bio
Prior to NextGen Healthcare, Mitch spent 28 years at McKesson Corporation in leadership roles within the technology, automation and pharmaceutical business units. During his 25 years in Sales at McKesson, Mitch’s teams earned an unprecedented track record of achieving company objectives every year.
While employed full-time at McKesson, Mitch earned a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University. Mitch earned his B.S. in Industrial Management from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia.
Mitch is based in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Lisa, for 32 years and they raised three children together (now grown): Zach, Caroline and Drew.
Katie Chaffee
CHIEF CLIENT OFFICER
Bio
Prior to joining NextGen Healthcare, Katie held leadership roles at Cerner Corporation in worldwide consulting services, population health, client relationship development and transformation. Before she joined Cerner, Katie was a senior consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, responsible for implementing SAP solutions in the high-tech industry.
She serves on the Xavier University Health Services Administration Advisory Board, JOCO United Board Member, Accountable Care Learning Collaborative, and is a SCORE Certified Mentor.
Katie received her bachelor’s degree in business administration and economics from the University of Kansas and a certificate in healthcare leadership from University of Missouri Kansas City.
Jacob Sims
Chief Technology Officer
Bio
Jacob Sims joined NextGen Healthcare in 2024 as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). He brings close to 20 years’ experience in leading large-scale healthcare technology organizations to NextGen. Jacob is responsible for leading the company’s technology vision, strategy and execution to enable better health and financial outcomes for our clients and their patients.
Prior to NextGen, he served as Executive Vice President and CTO at Gainwell & HMS, a provider of public health and human services IT solutions to state and local governments, which was acquired by Veritas Capital in 2020. At Gainwell, Jacob was responsible for leading: platform and technology strategies; product and platform engineering; operations; mergers and acquisitions; advanced analytics; and research and development. Prior to Gainwell, he served as Senior Vice President and CTO at WebMD Health Services.
Jacob has also served on various non-profit boards throughout Nashville and holds a bachelor’s in computer science from Middle Tennessee State University.
Robert Murry, PhD, MD, FAAFP
Chief Medical Officer
Bio
Previously, Dr. Murry served as Medical Director for Ambulatory Informatics and CMIO for Hunterdon Medical Center, where he continues to practice family medicine at Hunterdon Family Medicine at Delaware Valley.
He is board certified in Clinical Informatics by the American Board of Preventive Medicine and board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Murry holds an MD from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas; a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Boston College; and an MA in Physical Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Garo Doudian
Chief Information & Security Officer
Bio
Prior to NextGen Healthcare, Garo served as Senior Vice President and CISO for Moody’s Analytics-RMS, a global leader in software, models and solutions supported by a large-scale SaaS environment that served the global insurance and re-insurance market where he rebuilt the security program focusing on product security, DevSecOps, and cloud security automation. During his tenure, Garo also led the M&A security process for the sale to Moody’s and subsequent integration of people, process, and technology.
Before joining RMS, Garo was the CISO for Green Dot, a FinTech and regulated bank holding company where he led security programs integrating financial platforms with companies including Apple, Intuit, Uber, and Walmart. During his tenure at Green Dot, Garo also served as CIO and managed the Enterprise Fraud and Risk Product Development teams.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
Donna Greene
CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER
Bio
Prior to joining NextGen Healthcare, Donna was the corporate director of Human Resources for Alliance Healthcare Services, where she focused on employee services for physicians and healthcare workers in the oncology and diagnostic imaging space.
Before embarking on an HR-focused career, Donna worked in retail operations, which led to her first HR role. She began employment with Target as an HR manager and worked her way up to a regional HR professional, focused on employee relations. Later, she became the director of HR for Cendant as well as the chief people officer for a small human capital consulting firm.
Donna's work has spanned a broad array of industries and companies of all sizes. She has secured a proven track record of designing programs to continually improve the working environment, and creating policies that bring that vision to life.
She graduated with a bachelor of science in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an advanced certification in Human Resources and Business Leadership from the University of California, Irvine.
Jeffrey Linton
CHIEF LEGAL OFFICER, GENERAL COUNSEL, AND SECRETARY
Bio
Most recently, Jeff served as general counsel and secretary of Applied Proteomics, Inc., a company that developed noninvasive, blood-based tests for monitoring and early detection of disease. He oversaw all legal, intellectual property, compliance, and human resources activities. Previously, Jeff was senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary of Sequenom, Inc., a life sciences company. His experience includes similar roles and responsibilities at Beckman Coulter, Inc., a biomedical testing products company, Serologicals Corporation, a producer of life science research products and technologies, diagnostic kits, and drug discovery services and Solvay Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a branded pharmaceutical company.
Jeff graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree from Butler University. He earned a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School.
